In the past, when the British implemented colonial rule over Hong Kong, the transportation to and from the "Victoria Peak" was not fully developed, and it was generally necessary to travel by car. Therefore, those who can settle on the "Victoria Peak" are mainly foreigners or people with social status. But as more and more people came to settle here, "Victoria Peak" also began to develop. Until the official opening of the Peak Tram in 1888, it has gradually become a famous scenic spot.
Walking uphill along Mount Austin Road, you will come to a "Victoria Peak Garden" with full of British colors. In the past, this was the mountain lodge of the Governor of Hong Kong, but the mountain lodge has now been demolished, leaving only the mountain lodge guard house. The ruins have also been revitalized and rebuilt, and become an antique garden, where many couples come to take wedding photos. The large lawns in the park has become a resort for visitors to have a picnic.
On the "Victoria Peak", there are two landmark buildings, "The Peak Tower" and "The Peak Galleria". On the top floor, there are observation decks, all of which are excellent places to watch the "Victoria Harbour". In addition, there are also a number of restaurants with full of characteristics, whether it is Chinese, Western or Japanese cuisine, all of which can definitely satisfy visitors with different tastes.
There are many ways to get to Victoria Peak, the best way is to take the Peak Tram. But in addition to the Peak Tram, there are other cheaper ways to reach the Victoria Peak. It is recommended to take the MTR to Admiralty Station and leave at Exit C1. Afterwards, transfer to bus No. 15 at the Admiralty Station Bus Stop and get off at the Peak Bus Terminal.
