It is said that in the 19th century, in order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Queen Victoria's accession to the throne, the government at that time cast a bronze statue of the Queen, and this bronze statue was placed in an arched pavilion in "Statue Square". Since then, bronze statues of other members of the British royal family have been added to the square, such as Edward VII, Queen Alexandra, George V, Queen Mary and etc.
In 1950, the "Statue Square" was renovated and rebuilt, adding fountains, pavilions, bridges and some garden landscaping for the rest of the general public. Today, "Statue Square" has become a leisure destination for nearby office workers and foreign domestic helpers. While relaxing, they can also enjoy a moment of tranquility in the bustling city.
If you want to take a look here, it is recommended to take the MTR to the Central Station and leave at Exit K. This square is right at the exit of the station, so it is easy to see.
